Meet our Staff


Joan G. (Joani) Arnold, 

Owner/Licensed Professional Counselor

Ms. Arnold is nationally certified licensed professional counselor and owner/director of Active Living, LLC. She has extensive experience in working with preteens and adolescents, and families who are adjusting to the impact of divorce and separation.  She also specializes in other parenting issues as well as depression, anxiety, and emotional distress.

Ms. Arnold approaches her work with enthusiasm and compassion.  She is the mother of three young adults which enables her to apply the wisdom of life experience along with her professional knowledge, training and experience.


Rene Phifer

Rene’s duties include filing insurance, getting preauthorization when required (if they will allow the provider to get it), finding out how much your co-pay or portion of the visit is going to cost you, (as much as the insurance will let us know),  sending out statements, and whatever necessary to run the office.

Rene’ has been with Ms. Joani since she opened her practice in Medina, TN. Rene' was born and raised in Memphis, TN. She has worked in the medical field since completing high school. Rene’ loves being around people and wants to make your counseling experience as easy as possible. She will do whatever it requires to make your visit calm. If you need a counselor, give Rene’ a call and she will set you up with the right therapist for your needs


Sue S. Stalcup, LPC/MHSP, NCC, SPHR

 Is nationally certified licensed professional counselor and senior professional in human resources.  She has extensive experience working with adults and adolescents to resolve problems in their work and personal lives.  She has worked with intact and blended families on parenting issues and stresses associated with lives that are active and changing as children and relationship grow and develop.

She appreciate and work well with the particular problems encountered by those who have depression, anxiety, grief and other disorders.  In addition, Sue work with employers to resolve issues that occur in the workplace that affect the ability of the employees.


Dustin P. Keller, LPC-MHSP, NCC
Licensed Professional Counselor

Mr. Keller focuses on children, adolescents, families and young adults.   He is currently working on his Ph.D. from North-central University and is licensed as an LPC-MHSP and certified as a National Certified Counselor.  Dustin specializes in child abuse and adolescent/young adult issues.  Additionally, he is certified as an expert from the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress.  Dustin also trains and works with high school and college peer counselors through various community groups.
